Annual New Year’s Eve Party for the People of Glasgow
For several years, our team (led by Pamela Bailey) handled full communications strategy and proactive media relations, brand development, print and online advertising and web design for one of Europe’s largest and most boisterous ticketed, outdoor New Year’s Eve parties attended by up to 40,000 high-spirited revellers.
We achieved extensive advance media coverage in national, and regional media by focusing on top-name performers, while also ensuring that safety and drink-drive messages – such as ‘Wrap Up Warm’ and ‘Leave the Car at Home’ – were also conveyed through fun picture stories and advance family-themed articles.
Advance press accreditation ensured that media were well aware of the event and cleared to attend. Essential rooftop access was provided for cameras and photographers to capture the stunning closing firework display, thereby ensuring front-page newspaper coverage on New Year’s Day.
Our consistently solid, creative work for this joyous event : featuring a mix of rock music, cool dance music and top-of-their-game DJs appearing on a series of stages located across the downtown core was shortlisted for the UK Chartered Institute of Public Relations Sword of Excellence Awards.
